Overview
Search the Bible Institute (SBMI) is a registered Bible school with a rich history that began in 2003 as a humble Bible study group at Pentecost Secondary School in Koforidua, Eastern Region of Ghana. Rooted in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-18), SBMI was founded with a mission to train and equip Christians for the work of ministry, particularly in spreading the gospel to underserved communities. Inspired by Ephesians 4:10-12 and 2 Timothy 2:2, the institute’s primary aim is to prepare disciples who will not only proclaim the gospel but also disciple others within their churches and communities.
Since its establishment, SBMI has trained over 105 students, with a distinguishing emphasis on loyalty to one’s church. A unique feature of the institute is that none of its trainees have left their denominations after completing their studies, maintaining commitment to their churches while expanding their ministry roles.
On September 25, 2015, SBMI became officially registered under the Companies Act of Ghana (Act 179), granting it the authority to run Bible-based academic programs. Currently, SBMI offers the following programs:
- Certificate in Theology
- Diploma in Theology
- Degree in Theology
